Mariah is the local Director for Lwakisa Ministries. We feel very blessed to have the ministry locally led by such a wonderful woman who has the heart to serve others and to follow her calling of serving the Lord. Mariah previously worked at the Hope Center of Uganda (an orphanage for abused, abandoned, and neglected children) as a caretaker and supervisor for seven years. She also has been working with Compassion International Uganda since 2016 as a Curriculum Implementor/Center Guide and Volunteer.

She has gained a certificate of completion as a Teacher/Trainer from Len Ministries International for Evangelizing Nations. Mariah is married to her husband, Mathias (a youth pastor), and together they have three children: Timothy, Terri, and Tianne.

Mariah has been a family friend of the Shumakers since 2014. She cared for three children while working at the Hope Center, which was adopted by friends and family of the Shumaker’s. For years, the Shumakers and Mariah have developed a close friendship, and today, together, they are Lwakisa Ministries.
